DOMESTIC VIOLENCE AWARENESS
To end oppression and abuse in the lives of Women, Men and Children.
The mission is to empower, equip, educates lives on the prevention of Domestic Violence against women, men and teens in New Jersey, through advocacy, training, research and public awareness.
Domestic Violence Advocates: Staffed 24/7, provides crisis intervention, information and referrals, and problem solving.
Domestic Violence Response Teams: Trained volunteers respond to victims at police stations, providing emotional support, safety planning, information about restraining orders and community resources.
Community Training: In order to raise awareness of domestic and dating violence and build a community network of prevention and education, seminars are offered May-October. Group training is also provided at specified times of the year upon request.
What do Batterers look like?
Abusers look like you and me! Male and female. They are all races. Some are tall dark and handsome. Short with six pack, tall and skinny, rich and poor and some are even leaders right in your place of worship!!!!

October is national Domestic Violence Awareness Month.
Each 3rd weekend in October, VCDC host a “Season of Healing” (SOH) for victims of Domestic Violence, "Remembering Victims and Honoring Survivors."
SOH inspires people to take a look at the violence within their families and communities; and join together to empower and create positive change.
Domestic violence is not an option, it a decision!
A decision that is not a part of God's plan.
